Eco Hub Aber is one year old! Founders Kate and Cath of Aberystwyth took the space on 1st February 2022, it was damp rainy and cold but they had an idea for a warm friendly space to come together and work to reduce carbon and grow nature. Working with a local carpenter the team designed to maximise the space to be multi-functional for desk space, use as a shop with counter and small events and talks. A seagrass flooring, made in Bristol, was chosen to continue bringing nature into the space. Bringing plants in gave the final touches.
Co-founder Kate says “We have had a fantastic first year, it has been really hard work and thank you to everyone who has contributed on the way.” Sustrans was one of our first collaborators and Sioned, who runs the e-bike loan says “Eco Hub Aber are always helpful, supportive, and understanding. It is clear that they have a passion for improving Aberystwyth for the community.“
They are encouraging everyone to take part and remember “An Action Today keeps climate change at bay”.
