Maybe you may decide at the end you want to ditch your car and travel from place to place by e-bike.

We have a fleet of e-bikes – 3 folding bikes, 6 cargo bikes and 8 hybrid, a range of sizes  so plenty to go around.  Book for a half-day, full-day or a week’s hire around Aberystwyth.  We will give you a short induction on how to use the e-bike and provide helmets, locks and paniers.  The e-bikes come fully charged.  Minimum age to ride is 16 and all under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian during the hire (by UK law e-bikes may not be ridden by anyone below the age of 14 years old).

Why not try out a hybrid E-bikes from Eco Hub Aber? It is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors, drive less and see more. Whether you want to choose a short ride exploring the stunning historic seaside town of Aberystwyth or a more adventurous ride on the two National cycle routes well renowned for their breath-taking beauty, you are spoilt for choice.

The e-bikes are easy to ride, although you do still have to pedal!  A chance to enjoy in peace and serenity without getting out of breath or hot and sweaty!

The Bosch e-bike motor provides a nice boost for your efforts. They go up to 15mph and are a solid help on the climbs to increase your average speed. It gives you a feel like you’ve got bionic legs! When your pedal pressure increases to get up a hill so does the amount of power the motor outputs. More effort, less power assist and lower battery use. The batteries come fully charged. Operating range depends on many factors such as the assistance level, gear changing behaviour, route profile, headwind and temperature, but in general, the average range of our battery packs is up to around 50 miles.

The controls are easy thumb buttons, right on your handlebar. You’ll be able to keep track of everything, including speed, distance, and battery level. The easy-to-read display makes your riding stress free!

The bike has 5 levels of pedal assist powering you up to 15mph – which tied into the 7 speed Shimano gearing – will mean that you can fly up the steepest of hills while the cable pull disc brakes mean that you can come back down safely and securely!

There’s plenty of fresh, sea-air to be had whilst enjoying the sites around the town, taking in the evocative sites of the ruins of the 13th castle, funicular cliff railway and working harbour or maybe just cruising along the sea front and  the small-town streets lined with interesting shops, bars and cafes to pick up a bite to eat. Alternatively, if you really wanted to get away from it all there are two of the most highly regarded National Network cycle routes that start from right here at Eco Hub Aber.

The Ystwyth Trail (route 5), scenic cycleway that follows the old Great Western railway line for most of the way, achievable by people with a reasonable level of fitness. The 6.5m/10.5km route follows along the babbling Ystwyth River, as the trail winds through the valley and some of the UK’s finest countryside with breath taking views of the coastline, native woodlands all within landscapes that dramatically change with every season. Re-fuel and enjoy a picnic on the woodland benches along the way. Takes roughly 2.5 hrs.

The Rheidol cycleway (route 8) to Devil’s bridge – scenic route to a historical landmark. The 15.2m route features both quiet country lanes and dedicated cycle paths. Enjoy fantastic views along the Rheidol River valley, with standout features like Cwm Rheidol Reservoir hydro centre and The Magic of Life Butterfly House.  Near the end of the 1.5 hr route, you’ll descend into the breath-taking Rheidol Valley and be able to enjoy the world famous 300ft Mynach Waterfalls and the Three Bridges in the heart of the Cambrian mountains. Enjoy a treat at the Hafod Hotel.
